My goals with a student are multi-pronged.
1) I work to help “stop the bleeding” (homework and quizzes) and build relationship with the student. Students learn best with mentors they connect with. 

2) I help students develop study habits, set goals, and shore up content gaps that are often foundational to their current academic challenges. 

3) I show students ways to incorporate their interests and learning styles into learning new concepts and materials. We celebrate successes, set new goals, and re-evaluate long-term needs and strategies.

While I enjoy and have worked with students with ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia, I have been able to connect with experts in this field. I will quickly diagnose the level the student needs and either move forward with them with a plan or refer them to some very capable/highly trained colleagues in this field.

Currently, my rate is $70/hour, minimum of one hour, with a 24 hour cancellation notice. I can do group sessions at $55/hour per student.

In the Treasure Valley, I can meet in-person, though the majority of my meetings now are over Zoom

- I have done ACT/SAT workshops, and can do How to Study workshops, writing crash courses, and have led national workshops on Education/Reading/and Writing.
- I am also available to speak at churches and small groups (my faith journey, faith and education, Faith in the marketplace)

Absolutely. This is an area that is currently under development, but a writing online course and SAT course are currently under development, and courses on CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien, Animal Farm, Brave New World, and homeschool curriculum are slated for the near future. If you have a course you would like developed for a small group/homeschool co-op, please let me know!

 My passions are in the areas of education, government, and faith. For public speaking events, I primarily focus on Lessons from 20 years in Education, Cross-Cultural Community relationships and language, my faith journey, Working with youth, and Study Skills/Life Coaching
